It’s time for a break.

Not a long one. And not really from running as I still plan on getting out every day. More just a temporary hiatus from the mentality of training. My next race (NJ Devil 100) was cancelled and now I don’t have anything on my calendar until Stone Mill 50 in mid-November. An email from the RD last week makes it sound like that race is a go, but you never know these days.

Regardless, I feel like it’s time to take it easy for a while. Get a little fat and happy. I’ve been in a state of training or recovery from a race for about 10 months now. I don’t feel burned out and I’m not nursing any niggles. This is more preventative than anything else. I have a short window here to sleep in and cut runs short if it’s raining outside (i.e. yesterday) and I plan to take advantage of it.

Before I know it, it’ll be time to get back at it. Until then I’ll just kick back and enjoy this short intermission.
