My big western adventure is about to begin. Between work and life, I’ve been a bit too busy to put together my normal preview post. I feel physically and mentally prepared for the race. Logistics will be a bit more challenging given I’ll be flying to a race for the first time. I think I’ll have everything packed that I need, however you never know.
The biggest unknown will be the altitude and how well I’m able to deal with it. The race starts at 4275′ above sea level and goes on up to 8800′ at its highest. I’ve only run at altitude a couple times before, however those were only short runs. I’m hoping I will be able to deal with the thinner air, yet I won’t know for sure until I get out onto the course. The unknown with these races is what draws me towards them. Not sure what that says about me, but I’m sure it’s not good. Haha.
My family will be vacationing in Yellowstone the week afterwards so don’t worry when my race report is later than normal.
