Similar to last year, I’m doing a bonus post with all the extra photos I took that didn’t make it into my race report. It’s possible I could have shaved 45 minutes off my overall time by taking fewer pics.

Check-in Selfies

Let’s start with the photos I sent to Derek at each of the check-in locations.

Edison bench. There was a school group there when I arrived and I was trying to keep a little distance from them to avoid shouts of “stranger danger!”.
I probably also wasted about 15 minutes trying to take these damn pics. Turn here, angle the camera, is the location in the background, twist. . . bah. This is just what Derek’s getting.
Harding’s Tomb in the background. Permanent rest doesn’t sound too bad during parts of these runs.
OMG did I feel better here than last year. Night and day difference.
It took me 6 tries to get this shot as my flash didn’t want to work. And that’s a grimace, not a smile for those wondering.
Xenia. So happy.
Mile 217.5. Even happier.

And Now The Course

Here’s my homage to Shel Silverstein.
Limited shoulder fine with limited traffic.
North Fairfield.
This store was 2-3 miles from Plantown County Market. I saw Jason stop in ahead of me so followed him in. Owner was nice enough to fill up a bottle with cold water as he didn’t have any for sale. Such a blessing.
Downtown Mansfield, which was a dark place for me literally and figuratively last year.
Dawn of the second day. Apparently my camera was waking up, too.
Dublin definitely has the nicest sidewalks.
Route heads to the right here in Hilliard behind a shopping center.
Early miles on the bike path are straight as the crow flies.
No, seriously. Zero turns.
The trail is actually a state park.
Oh, no. Not again!
I found the half mile markers much less annoying this year, mostly because I couldn’t remember what they were counting up to.
